Culver City to Begin Razing Adams Hotel

Culver City officials said they hope to start demolition of the vacant Adams Hotel this week, after a Jan. 9 fire that seriously weakened the structure.
The demolition, originally planned for late summer, will cost the Redevelopment Agency $20,000 to $30,000, said Lynn Mockry, an associate city civil engineer.
The agency condemned the downtown hotel at the corner of Main Street and Washington Boulevard last year.
The building, which also housed Big Ed’s bar, sits on part of a 1.5-acre parcel that is being studied as a possible site for the new City Hall, said Susan Berg, agency project manager.
