Billy Konchellah, the world champion in the 800 meters, was a mysterious no-show at the Sunkist Invitational Friday night at the Sports Arena.
It turns out that Konchellah was running Friday afternoon when he had a relapse of a chronic asthma condition. Konchellah said he wasn’t able to reach meet promoter Al Franken at his office to tell him he couldn’t compete.
