Laser Precision Corp. reported that its first-quarter net income rose to $279,000, more than four times the $62,000 posted in the like period a year ago. Sales for the quarter ended March 31 increased 48%, to $5.5 million from $3.7 million a year earlier. Laser Precision, with headquarters in Irvine, is a manufacturer of test and measurement equipment for use in fiber-optic telecommunications, laser research, quality control and chemical analysis.
