Central China Drought

BEIJING — Central China’s Hubei province has been hit by its worst drought in a century, ravaging more than 32 million acres of farmland and drying up much of its water supply, an official report said Tuesday.
Only 1.24 inches of rain has fallen in the province since April, just .08 inches more than the same period in 1887, the overseas edition of the People’s Daily said.
