Austrian Socialists Vote

VIENNA — Chancellor Franz Vranitzky was elected Austrian Socialist Party chairman at a party conference, succeeding Fred Sinowatz. Vranitzky, 50, the only candidate nominated in Wednesday night’s election, received 93.6% of the vote.
