Surrogate Bill

I unhappily read that the state Assembly passed legislation to outlaw surrogate parenting contracts (Part I, May 24). Because of this, many childless couples may remain sadly alone. We should try to remember that it really isn’t the baby who is being paid for, it is the service of the surrogate mother.
