I enjoyed the article, “Remote Mining Town Stands Silent, Empty” (May 1) by Charles F. Queenan, about my favorite ghost town, Bodie. He quotes the famous line attributed to the little girl: “Goodby, God, I’m going to Bodie.”

On one of my trips to Bodie the park ranger told me that the then city fathers of Bodie were upset by this story and had asserted that what she had really written was: “Good, by God--I’m going to Bodie!”
