Local News in Brief : Trash Hoarder Dies

A woman whose 20-year accumulation of trash and garbage in a rat-infested Pomona home forced authorities to move in and clear away 40 tons of debris has died from a stroke. She was 72.

Erleen Burman of Pomona was admitted to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on May 27 after suffering a stroke. She suffered a fatal stroke on Saturday, the hospital said.

The Pomona Fire Department last month had ordered debris removed from her home.
