Veteran race car driver Bobby Allison, recovering from injuries suffered in the Miller 500 stock car race last Sunday at Pocono International Raceway, was “a little bit sharper” but remained in critical condition.

Allison, 50, was able to squeeze his wife’s hand and showed signs of response to questions. He was listed in critical but stable condition at the Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown, Pa.
