BUDAPEST, Hungary — An unprecedented dispute between two Warsaw Pact allies heated up today as Parliament condemned a Romanian plan to resettle ethnic Hungarians from 7,000 villages to new agricultural-industrial centers and called on Bucharest to reconsider the move.
The resolution made no reference to Romania’s decision this week to close a Hungarian consulate and expel its staff. It also didn’t mention the order to close a Hungarian cultural center in the Romanian capital.
