B. F. Goodrich Co.’s profit rose 58% to $60.4 million in the second quarter, compared to $38.3 million a year ago. The Akron, Ohio-based tire maker cited improvement in the firm’s chemical and aerospace businesses. Second-quarter operating income of the company’s largest business segment, PVC & Intermediates, rose to $62.1 million from $35.4 million a year ago.
