Transamerica Corp.’s earnings fell 15.5% to $89.45 million in the second quarter. The San Francisco financial services concern posted a $1.87-million after-tax gain from investment transactions, down from a similar gain of $8.26 million and $15.6 million in gains from discontinued operations posted in 1987. Revenue totaled $1.996 billion, up from $1.977 billion a year ago.
