Hungary Premier Sees Reagan

WASHINGTON — Karoly Grosz, the first leader of Hungary to visit the White House in 42 years, told President Reagan today his country will allow greater political and economic freedoms to its people.
Grosz, who became premier and Communist Party chief in May, met with Reagan and other top Administration officials for two hours. Grosz said in a departure statement that Hungary “will reorganize its economy,” and expand the private sector in the maverick socialist nation. “This can only be done, we are aware, if the people, if the citizens, will enjoy more rights, more freedoms,” Grosz said.
