$15,000 Earmarked for Social Services

DOWNEY — The City Council has included $15,000 in its 1988-89 fiscal year budget to fund social organizations that are rendering services to residents.
To qualify for the financial grant, an organization must be nonprofit and have a tax-exempt status, a sound financial base, community support and a demonstrated effectiveness and success in the type of service to the community.
The deadline for grant proposals is Friday. For more information, contact the Community Services Department at 869-7331, Ext. 211.
