Memories of Paris

I enjoyed Irene Corbally Kuhn’s remembrances of Paris in the ‘20s (Aug. 21). It was a wonderful piece about a fascinating time, interesting people and an incomparable city. What beautiful memories.

She arrived in Paris a year after I was born, but as a kid growing up outside New York City in the ‘20s and ‘30s I always wanted to get to Paris. In early 1945 I finally had my first glimpse from the cab of an Army truck en route from Normandy to Auxerre.

Happily, I have had many chances to return to Paris. But I would have loved to have been there when she was. Please pass along thanks to her for sharing her memories with us.
