Inexcusable Action

On behalf of The Humane Society of the United States and our more than 820,000 members and constituents, I am writing in reference to recent events concerning the Dunda case at the San Diego Wild Animal Park. As the humane group of record in this case, the HSUS led the effort to bring this abuse to public attention.
The HSUS does not condone vandalism such as that directed against the three elephant trainers recently. Though animal abuse is always reprehensible, violent behavior in return is inexcusable.
Vandalism makes a big noise; but it is a real distraction that deafens people to the real message--helping the animals.
