And the cost of Rambo-style protection on the road? $68,250. That’s what it cost Miami car customizer Marvin Friedman to pick up Sylvester Stallone’s fully armored 1987 Chevrolet Suburban at an auction over the weekend. The vehicle has 2-inch-thick shatter-proof glass, reinforced plating in the floor and sides, a computerized navigation system, a police alarm, a public address system, a TV, a VCR, a compact disc player and a telephone. Stallone had the vehicle custom-built after receiving death threats; a spokesman for the actor said he plans to get a 1989 model with lighter armor.
