Keith Cos., a Costa Mesa planning, civil engineering and architecture firm, said it has opened its 12th office, this one on the Hawaiian island of Kauai.

The firm said it is trying to become “a force in the Pacific Rim.” It already has a Tokyo office.

Keith is starting small in Hawaii. Its first projects are engineering and construction management for a 44-lot subdivision and engineering for a 90,000-square-foot office and industrial building.
