The elder son of former Pakistani President Zia ul-Haq, who was killed in a mysterious plane crash Aug. 17, said he plans to file a $1-billion lawsuit against the aircraft’s manufacturer. At a news conference in New York, Ijaz ul-Haq, 36, said he plans to sue Lockheed Corp. next year to “get to the bottom” of his father’s death. In October, U.S. investigators attributed the crash to a mechanical defect in the C-130 transport. But when a Pakistani investigation later cited sabotage as the cause, State Department officials declined to challenge the finding. A Lockheed spokesman denied that the corporation is liable for the crash.
