Justice Brennan, 82, Returns After Surgery

Supreme Court Justice William J. Brennan Jr., who underwent surgery to remove his gallbladder two weeks ago, returned to the court Tuesday.

Brennan, 82, was hospitalized Dec. 8 with chills and fever, a condition at first diagnosed as pneumonia. Doctors later determined that he had non-malignant gallbladder disease.
