Only 3,729 Watch Suns Beat Bullets

LANDOVER, Md. — Tom Chambers scored 12 of his 29 points in the fourth quarter as the Phoenix Suns rallied to a 125-122 victory over the Washington Bullets Monday night before 3,729, the smallest crowd for a National Basketball Assn. game this season.

The victory was the Suns’ sixth in their last 7 games, and their first at the Capital Centre since Jan. 26, 1985. Phoenix, which beat the Bullets by 38 points last month, is 17-11. Washington fell to 8-19, the same record it had after 27 games last season.

Neither club led by more than 2 points in the fourth quarter until Chambers hit a pair of free throws with 4:30 to play after Eddie Johnson converted the first of 2 fourth-quarter technical fouls assessed the Bullets by referee Blaine Reichelt.

Tyrone Corbin followed with a jumper at 3:52, his only points of the second half, to make it 115-110.
