The American people have mixed expectations for President Bush’s Administration, but the public has grown more confident since last November that Bush will be able to make good on many of his campaign promises, according to a Gallup poll. Americans are most optimistic that Bush will be able to keep the nation out of war (77%) and prosperous (74%), increase respect for the U.S. abroad (74%) and raise educational standards (74%). They are less confident Bush can improve the quality of the environment (62%) and enhance the lot of minorities and the poor (53%).
