Insurance Commissioner Roxani M. Gillespie has been appointed conservator of National Service Insurance Co. by the San Diego Superior Court. The court order effectively places the National City, Calif.-based insurer under Department of Insurance control. The company specialized in auto physical damage, auto extended warranty and mechanical breakdown policies, mostly written in Southern California markets. Claims will continue to be paid through the company’s consumer service facilities.
