Jean Pierre van Rooy has been named president, North American Operations, for United Technologies’ Otis Elevator Co. of Farmington, Conn. Van Rooy, who succeeds and reports to Karl J. Krapek, will have overall responsibility for the company’s U.S. and Canadian operations. Van Rooy previously held the post of senior vice president of Otis’ European and Transcontinental Operations.
