Having kissed and made up with Willard Scott, “Today” show host Bryant Gumbel apparently is ready to let bygones be bygones in his grudge against David Letterman. Early-morning Gumbel has been mad at late-night Letterman ever since Letterman, shouting through a bullhorn, interrupted a taping of “Today” in 1985 at the Rockefeller Center skating rink. But the two are talking again, Gumbel having called Letterman to thank him for returning a copy of Gumbel’s now-famous memo that criticized his “Today” co-workers, particularly Scott. On Monday, Scott kissed Gumbel on the cheek during the “Today” show as they buried their hatchet.
