Carolco Pictures Inc.: The Los Angeles entertainment company’s 1988 profit more than doubled to $36 million from $14 million the previous year. Revenue rose 59% to $165 million. The results were boosted by feature films revenue, which more than doubled to $139 million, increased equity from its LIVE Entertainment Inc. affiliate, higher demand for American films abroad and the modernization of overseas theaters.
