Schedule for President Bush When He Visits County Today

President Bush’s Orange County visit today at a glance:
WHAT: Bush is here to present a check for $4.39 million to local law enforcement authorities as their share of $5.2 million in cash confiscated in raids on Feb. 12, 1988. Bush also will address VIPs at a luncheon.
WHERE: Ceremonies will take place at Rancho del Rio, a confiscated drug smuggler’s headquarters 4 miles off the Ortega Highway.
WHO: The event is not open to the public. Invited are high school students involved in Sheriff Brad Gates’ anti-drug abuse program, Young Republicans of Orange County, the Republican Party County Central Committee and local police chiefs. Every elected official in the county has been invited.
WHEN: Bush flies to El Toro Marine Corps Air Station and takes a Marine helicopter to Rancho del Rio, where he will speak at 12:20 p.m. After lunch, he departs by helicopter for Santa Monica.
