Westminster : Suspected Gang Member Held in Shooting Death

A suspected gang member was arrested Tuesday at his Westminster home and charged with murder and attempted murder in connection with the drive-by shooting last month of a Buena Park teen-ager, Westminster Police Lt. Bob Burnett said.
Christopher Alvarenga Salivar, 18, is accused in the death of Frank Arellano, 18, who was shot in the head and torso on April 1. Arellano died 5 days later from his wounds.
Arellano, who police said was not a gang member, was shot as he rode in a car northbound on Hoover Street just south of Garden Grove Boulevard. The car’s driver, whose name was withheld, was uninjured, police said.
