Actor Anthony Perkins was fined $310 in Cardiff, Wales, Monday for smuggling a small amount of marijuana into Britain. Perkins, 57, was charged with mailing 1.32 grams of marijuana with a street value of about $7 from his Los Angeles home to coincide with his arrival at a hotel in Wales where he was filming, the court was told. Hotel staff, however, delivered the package to someone else named Perkins who opened it to find a small, aluminum foil packet containing enough drugs for three or four cannabis cigarettes. The actor was arrested by two detectives when he checked in Sunday. “He made a full admission and said it was for his own personal use,” said prosecution lawyer Sian Phillips. “He said he had grown it in his own back yard in America.”
