Convicted Murderer, 17, Fails in Escape Attempt

From United Press International

A 17-year-old convicted murderer tried to escape from the Douglas County Jail through a crawl space while returning from a church service but could not find a way out before being caught, deputies said Monday.

Karl Kazor, who is awaiting sentencing, removed ceiling tiles over a hallway and lifted himself into a crawl space, officers said. Guards discovered the missing tiles and entered the crawl space, eventually finding him above the attorneys’ interview room.
