AIDS in Belgium Up 40%

BRUSSELS — Belgium had 474 reported cases of AIDS by the end of March, 1989, up 40% from the same time last year, the Health Ministry said Monday. A ministry statement said almost 30% of acquired immune deficiency syndrome sufferers caught the disease through heterosexual contact, a figure it said was one of the highest in Europe.
