COMING ATTRACTIONS

Arts and entertainment reports from The Times, national and international news services and the nation's press

In a effort to save the historic Pan Pacific Auditorium, a group that was formed after the May 25 fire that severely damaged the landmark Fairfax District building will sponsor an auto show and celebrity car wash on Sept. 2. The afternoon event will feature at least 100 vintage automobiles from the 1950s and ‘60s. Celebrities will be on hand to wash cars for 25 cents, which is approximately the cost of a car wash in the Pan Pacific’s heyday more than 40 years ago.
