WORLD : Bonn to Honor Air Disaster Victims

From Times wire services

All military training flights over West Germany will be grounded on the anniversary of the Ramstein air disaster next week to honor the victims of the crash, the West German Defense Ministry said today.

NATO forces in West Germany heeded a call by the commander of the West German air force, Lt. Gen. Horst Jungkurth, to ground flights Aug. 28, a year after a catastrophe at a military air show which killed 70 people and injured hundreds.

Three Italian air force jets collided and one plunged into spectators. West Germany subsequently banned all aerial stunts indefinitely.
