Calling our emergency services in the last few years has tended to be a humiliating experience. You are treated as if you are a small, paranoid child instead of a responsible adult. If you have an accent you are treated worse. Our Latino and Korean neighbors have made it a habit to come to us to call the police since their calls usually result in being told they do not need help.
