Paramount Communications Inc.: The New York-based entertainment conglomerate posted third-quarter net income of $96.3 million, a 20% decrease from 1988. Revenue totaled $950.6 million, up 20%. The company said an after-tax charge of $48.3 million for costs incurred in the firm’s unsuccessful bid to acquire Time Inc. reduced its earnings.
