St. Monica at Palisades

St. Monica couldn’t get its offense started, and Whittier Christian couldn’t be stopped as the Heralds shut out the Mariners, 31-0.

Mariner Coach Angelo Jackson said that he had no excuses, that Whittier Christian “controlled the game, and we just didn’t tackle.” Jackson said that if he can find a couple of outside linebackers who can bring down ball carriers, he will stay in a new 3-4 defense. If he can’t, the team will go back to its old 4-3.

This one, at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Palisades, will be the opener for the Dolphins, who were 1-8 last year.
