Stuart A. Rosenthal, Vons Cos.’ highly regarded executive vice president-marketing, has told superiors that he plans to step down as soon as some projects are completed. “I’m frankly considering my options,” Rosenthal, 44, said. “I’m not in a tremendous hurry.” Industry observers have speculated that Rosenthal is interested in moving to a top-level position with another large chain. He has been in his current job at Vons for five years.
