Ken Norman Signs Contract Extension

Forward Ken Norman, who was beginning the final season of a three-year contract, signed a multiyear contract extention with the Clippers Tuesday.

Norman would have been paid $450,000 for 1989-90. He signed a four-year contract for $4.4 million.

The four-year contract goes into effect this season, General Manager Elgin Baylor said. No other terms were announced.

Norman, a 6-foot-8, 219-pounder, was the 19th pick overall in the first round of the 1987 NBA draft by the Clippers after playing at Illinois. He averaged 8.6 points and 4.7 rebounds as a rookie and 18.1 points and 8.3 rebounds last season.
