Nelson, Pearce Win Qualifying Matches

BERGEN, Norway — Americans Todd Nelson and Brad Pearce qualified Sunday for this week’s Bergen Open tennis tournament.
Roger Smith of the Bahamas and Richard Bergh of Sweden also won three matches in the 32-player preliminaries to qualify for the annual indoor tournament.
Two Swedes, Jan Gunnarsson and Peter Lundgren, were top-seeded. Lundgren was a late wild-card entry.
