Pepperdine Rolls Past Air Force

Senior guard Shann Ferch scored 19 points and had eight assists to lead Pepperdine to an 82-75 win over the Air Force Academy in the first round of the Ameritas tournament in Lincoln, Neb.

Ferch led four Waves players in double figures--Tom Lewis added 17, Craig Davis 16 and sophomore Doug Christie had 15 points and seven rebounds. Geoff Lear added a game-high 14 rebounds for the Waves.

The Waves (1-1) will play Nebraska (2-2), a 117-79 winner over Harvard, in the championship game tonight 6.

Guard Raymond Dudley led the Air Force with a game-high 31 points. He scored 22 in the second half.

Air Force (1-2) cut a 14-point Pepperdine lead to 62-59 with 7:42 left, but the Waves went on a 9-2 run in the next 2:03 to seal the win.
