Double Gumbel Vision: Sportscaster Greg Gumbel is joining brother Bryant in the morning-news race. Greg Gumbel, a reporter for CBS Sports, has been signed up to anchor a new sports segment on “CBS This Morning.” He will cover events and personalities in the sports world as well as contribute feature reports for the early-morning newscast. He will also occasionally substitute for anchor Harry Smith, which will put him in direct competition with brother Bryant, the anchor on “Today.” Greg Gumbel will continue as a CBS Sports studio anchor for baseball and college football and as an NFL play-by-play announcer.
