Robert Fine Jr. Pleads Guilty: Robert Fine Jr., a Los Angeles man accused of bilking real estate lenders out of $613,000, pleaded guilty to one count of mail fraud and one of using a false name in connection with a mail fraud. The felony counts carry a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and a $500,000 fine. Fine got information about individuals and their property through public records. He then proceeded to borrow money using these persons’ identities and property as collateral. He was caught after two loan brokers started chatting and realized that Fine borrowed money from both of them under two different identities.
