Pittsburgh third baseman Bobby Bonilla, the first Pirate player to go to salary arbitration in seven years, lost his case and will settle for $1,250,000.
Bonilla, who batted .281 with 24 home runs and 86 runs batted in, was seeking $1,700,000. He was paid $730,000 in 1989.
