OMAHA — U.S. Sen. Bob Kerrey has renewed his acquaintance with actress Debra Winger, lately divorced from Timothy Hutton, a Kerrey aide said.
Winger and her son, Noah, were spending several days in Omaha this week during the Senate recess, said Steve Jarding, Kerrey’s press aide.
Then-Gov. Kerrey met Winger in 1983 when she was filming “Terms of Endearment” in Lincoln. Their love affair ended in the fall of 1985, but Kerrey and Winger remained friends, Jarding said.
In 1986, Winger married Hutton. The couple had Noah a year later. Hutton, who starred in the film “Ordinary People,” filed for divorce in December. Winger is a business partner with Kerrey in the Prairie Life Center, a fitness center in Omaha.
