SHORT TAKES : Crash Injures Members of Band

SCRANTON, Pa. — Singer Gloria Estefan of the popular group Miami Sound Machine was injured today when a truck ran into the band’s bus on a snow-covered highway, authorities said.
Estefan’s condition was not immediately known, but a hospital spokeswoman said she would be admitted to the Community Medical Center in Scranton.
The accident occurred on westbound Interstate 380 about 12:15 p.m. near Tobyhanna, state police reported.
Six members of the group and the truck driver were injured, hospital spokeswoman Bonita Ferguson said. Their conditions were not immediately known.
