What a treat! Almost as good as a Curry’s Mile-Hi strawberry cone, your “O, Happy Days!” issue was a real blast from the past. I grew up in Whittier (birthdays at Nixon’s burger stand), my husband, Ronald, in Buena Park (BPHS football team, Freeway League Co-Champs 1965).
Life in Iowa City seems pretty tame by comparison. Here, local news leads off with pork futures, and weather is the major topic of conversation next to Hawkeye sports. Thanks for taking us back to the land of orange groves and palm trees, if only for a quick trip down Memory Interstate.
