* Kirk P. Howland has been named president of Howland Industries, a Stanton-based precision machining company. He succeeds his father, Robert S. Howland, who remains with the company as chairman. Before his new appointment, Kirk Howland was general manager of the company. He previously worked for American Management Inc., a Washington consulting firm, and for Control Data Corp.
