Frank W. Considine has resigned as chairman of American National Can Co., Chicago. As previously announced, Jean Gandois, chairman of Pechiney S.A., the France-based parent company, has become ANC’s chairman. Considine had planned to step down in June, 1989, but agreed to remain chairman during the transition after the election of Jean-Pierre Ergas to chief executive.
