A 3-year-old El Cajon boy was in critical condition at Children’s Hospital on Thursday night after falling into a back-yard swimming pool in Lakeside.
Nicholas Nesvig fell into the pool about 3 p.m. while his uncle was washing off the pool deck in the 13000 block of Shenandoah Drive.
The uncle, Phil Jennings, pulled the boy out and attempted artificial respiration, but he did not start breathing again until firefighters took over, said Capt. David Burke of the Lakeside Fire Department.
