May 1: Clubs may resume negotiations with their former players who became free agents.
May 15: Clubs may re-sign players whom they released following the end of the 1989 season.
June 4: Amateur draft, through June 6.
July 10: All-Star Game, Wrigley Field, Chicago, 6:35 p.m.
Aug. 5: Hall of Fame induction ceremonies, Cooperstown, N.Y.
Aug. 6: Hall of Fame game, Montreal vs. Baltimore, Cooperstown, N.Y.
Aug. 31: Deadline for postseason rosters.
Sept. 1: Active rosters increased to 40 players.
Oct. 1: All players an optional assignment must be recalled.
Oct. 4: National League playoffs begin, city of West division winner.
Oct. 6: American League playoffs begin, city of East division winner.
Oct. 16: World Series begins, city of National League champion.
Nov. 30: Winter meetings, Los Angeles, through Dec. 6.
